On July 24, 2018, Duke Energy representatives met with the NCDEQ Stormwater Permitting to discuss options for the Buck Ash Beneficiation Facility stormwater permit. Due to the nature of operations at the facility, the control of product during processing and packaging, and the rigorous Best Management Practices to be employed by the facility, the General Permit NCS 130000 was recommended by the NCDEQ Stormwater Permitting Section.
