Project Purpose:
The purpose of this project is to reduce congestion and improve mobility on the NC 55 corridor in the project
area, with a goal of achieving an overall level of service D(LOS D).
The Merger Team met on March 16, 2017 and reached concurrence on the Purpose and Need for this proposed
action as stated above and as presented in tletailed in the CP1 Meeting Packet (March 16, 2017). The Merger
Team reached concurrence on the Study Area Defined as presented on the attached figure.
