James E. Rogers Energy Complex (formerly Cliffside Steam Station)
Roxboro Steam Electric Plant
W.H. Weatherspoon Power Plant
Dear Mr. Zimmerman:
Duke Energy received NCDEQ's July 8, 2016 request to "provide data and conduct additional
site assessment as needed to characterize the distribution of coal ash residuals (CCR) at
confirmed and potential coal ash disposal areas" at the following Duke Energy facilities:
• James E. Rogers Energy Complex
• Roxboro Steam Electric Plant
• W.H. Weatherspoon Power Plant
Attached you will find proposed Groundwater Assessment Work Plans (GAWPs) for each
facility. The GAWPs include additional activities that will be included as part of the ongoing
comprehensive site assessment for each subject facility.
This information is being provided to the respective regional offices.
