Permit No. NCO028975
Saluda WWTP
I am responding to the enclosed NOV on behalf of the City of Saluda WWTP. On April 24, 2018
a high Fecal Coliform result was detected causing the plant to be Non -Compliant for the month.
The high Fecal was caused by the flow tripling due to inflow and infiltration during a very heavy
rain event causing the Chlorine to be diluted. An option for flow proportional chlorine and
dechlor pumps wired to the existing flow meter was being explored by the city immediately
following the awareness of the high fecal.
Flow proportional equipment has been ordered and will be installed as soon as possible.
Concerning the "Composite Sampling Time" & "Total Composite time" Permit Conditions
Violation portion of the letter, from now going forward, we will begin to report that information
on the eDMRs.
Please advise should further information be required.
Thank you,
Rachael G. Kramer
