Mark,
Thank you for putting this morning's conference call together. It is my sincere hope we can work together as a
team to craft a message that conveys to the public the most accurate information in regard to our drinking water
supplies for the health and welfare of our customers. I stand ready to assist in that effort however possible.
Please keep me in the loop as these risk assessments and messaging discussions move forward.
If you can, please send to me your specific concerns in regard to those statements in my draft PWA that are not
entirely accurate or to which you take exception.
Also, there were many folks on the call this morning. Can you provide a call in list of those participants? Thank
you.
I've provided to Zack Moore those research documents that are the basis of my concerns with the DHHS DNEL
and the potential risks associated with our drinking water. Please let me know if you would like to discuss
further.
Regards,

Today I received the attached draft Precautionary Water Advisory ("PWA") from
Brunswick Regional Water Q'Sewer HJGo("HZGo"). HJGopurportedly intends to
publish this PVVAtoits customers. The PVVArecommends that H26ocustomers find
alternative sources of drinking water due to the presence of C8 and GenX in the Cape
Fear River.
While HZGosuggests it isnot "hitting the panic button,"|amconcerned that will bethe
practical effect ofthe PVVA--vvhetherwarranted ornot. |ammindful ofthe June 1Z,
2017 statement published by the Occupational Environmental Epidemiology Branch of
the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, citing a Derived No Effect
Level of 70,909 ng/L of GenX based on a 2-year chronic toxicity study, and concluding
thattheGenX|eve|sdeteotedintheCapeFearRiver"wou|dbeexpectedtopusea|ovv

recognize that the agencies copied hereon are tasked with evaluating the toxicity of
these substances and establishing standards protective ufthe public. Due tuthe
urgency of this issue, I request your immediate advice with regards to an appropriate
response to H2Go's Precautionary Water Advisory.
