Subject: FONSI Reviews
To Whom it May Concern: EPA has completed the review of the FONSIs listed below and offer the
following comments:
R-4047, NC 209 Improvements, Haywood Co.: Non-Merger. EPA notes that comments from the
EA were responded to. Also, stream impacts have been reduced to 150 linear feet.
U-4901, Falls of the Neuse Road Widening, Wake Co.: Non-Merger. EPA notes that comments
from the EA were responded to (Pages 37-39). There are approx. 702 linear feet of stream
impacts (UT to Neuse River) reduced from 879 I.ft. and reduced riparian buffer impacts from
the updated design.
U-2551, Enola Road Improvements, Buke Co.: Non-Merger. EPA's request for the FONSI
following the EA review was addressed. There are no estimated direct impacts to jurisdictional
waters.
U-3815. US 64/NC 345 Intersection, Dare Co.: Merger project. The FONSI included EPA's
comments from the EA review. Wetland impacts estimated to be 1.2 acres. EPA will continue
to stay involved with the propsoed project thru the Merger 01 process.
