Project Summary The applicant proposes to construct a joint pier to suo = the dggLm a of six vessels for twos single family residences. Anderson and Clark Page two 9. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The project site is two lots located in a residential neighborhood adjacent to Banks Channel at 210 & 212 Water Street in Wrightsville Beach. The lots are 50' x 1401, with a new home under construction on one, and the other presently vacant. This part of Wrightsville Beach is one of large, single family homes, with residential piers. The area is classified Developed Wrightsville Beach Land Use Plan. The are classified SA by the Division of F are open to the taking of shellfish, Primary Nursery Area. The marsh islands Primary Nursery Area. - Residential in the waters of Banks Channel :nvironmental Management, and are not designated across Banks Channel are Both lots are bulkheaded. There is no marsh adjacent to the highground property; rather, a sandy beach. The applicant is proposing to construct a joint pier between the two lots. This will help restrict the pier concentration in the area. The pier is to be 6' in width and 70' in length. About mid point on the south side of the pier there will be 4' x 5' landing supporting a ramp to a floating dock. This dock consists of 570 square feet in a "U" formation. It will support a 10' x 13' boatlift on the landward side, and a 10' x 13' boatlift in the middle, leaving room for dockage of one more vessel within the fingers, and one larger vessel on the waterward side of the dock. There will be two mooring pilings outside of this dock, located 123' from the bulkhead, at the Wrightsville Beach pierhead line. On the north side of the pier there will be another "U" formation dock, with a finger in the middle. This dock consists of 848 square feet, and has a 10' x 13' boatlift within it confines. There will be a 6' x 12' landing on the pier with a davit to lift a jet ski. The landward section of the dock is 20' x 16' to support storage of a sunfish and 2 jet skis. The 6' x 12' landing is for winter storage of the jet skis. Between the two floating docks there will be a 16' x 16' gazebo, and an 8' x 22' pier extension. There is a total of 1,762 square feet of deck and dock structure for the two homes, to support dockage of 6 boats. The structure extends 123' into a body of water approximately 1,000' across. It will terminate in -9' mlw. The structure will be 15' from each adjacent riparian corridor. Anderson and Clark Page three 10. ANTICIPATED IMPACTS This dock system as proposed will incorporate 1,762 square feet of public trust waters. The pier will incorporate 420 square feet of public trust waters. The project will be 15' off of each riparian corridor, and extends 123' into a body of water approximately 1,000' across. The structure is for residential use of two single family residences, and will support dockage of six boats, a sunfish, and two jetskis. This is an area very high in boat concentration.
