SUBJECT: Camp Lejeune Construction Contract 92-8146, Extend Utilities to
Campground, Area 6, MICAS, Action ID. 199202861, New River, County, NC
1. Reference letter, 11000, PWO, with enclosures, dated 8 July 1992,
detailing plans to install water, sewer and electrical utilities spanning
wetlands adjacent to Southwest Creek off the New River, Area 6, MCAS, New
River, Onslow County, NC.
2. On 1 April 1988, we renewed general permit No. CESAW-CO81-N-000-0049 (copy
enclosed) that authorizes the maintenance, repair and installation of aerial
and subaqueous utility lines with attendant structures and the discharge of
excavated or fill materials, within construction/access corridors, associated
with utility line maintenance, repair and installation in navigable waters and
waters of the U.S. in the State of NC.
3. Your proposed work is authorized if you can comply with all permit
conditions. Please read the enclosed permit to prevent an unintentional
violation of Federal law.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The US Marine Corps Base ICamp Lejeune
proposes to replace water and sewer lines at the Northeast Creek
trestle and the Scales Creek pile bent structure.
ADJACENT WATER BODY: Scales and Northeast Creeks
CLASSIFICATION: SC HQW NSW
The project has been reviewed to determine impacts to water
quality. The following comments have been provided.
1. The project will require a 401 Water Quality Certification.
2. The project complies with the General 401 Water Quality
Certification No. 2664 for Utility Line Backfill and
Bedding.
This office has no objection to the project as proposed.
