SPFCTAL PROVT STONS SP-1-01 GENERA[ Try the event any provision of this Section modifies, differs, or contradicts a provision contained elsewhere in the Documents, the provisions of this Section shall control. SP--1.02 CONTRACTOR COORDTNATTON The Contractor's attention is directed to the utility work under this Contract to be performed on the property of Locke Glen, Tnc, , proposed as Forest. Glen Subdivision and herewith advised that, other construction activity will be underway relative to the subdivision simultaneous with the utility work_ Therefore the Contractor- and his subcontractors shall cooperate fully with the Site Development. Contractor and coordinate activities to avoid construction conflicts or delay of the work. The Site Work Contractor shall be required under the site work Contract, to cooperate and coordinate his work with the work of this Contract. Each Contractor and subcontractor shall be required to cooperate and consult, with each other and shall layout, and execute the respective work, so as to cause the least, delay to each other- Each Contractor shall be held responsible for any damage to other Contractor's work and each subcontractor shall be held financially responsible for undue delay caused by him to other Contractors Tf any part of a Contractor's work depends upon the work of another Contractor, defects which may affect that, work shall be reported to the Engineers in order that, prompt, inspection may be made and that defects be corrected. Commencement, of work by a Contractor where such condition exists wi.l.l constitute acceptance of the other Contractors' work as being satisfactory in all respects to receive the work commenced, except, as to defects which may later develop. &P-IM TRANSPORTATTON OF MATERTAL AND EQUTPMFNT The Contractor and his suppliers are directed herein to contact, the North Carolina Department of Transportation to verify axle load limits on State maintained roads (and bridges) which would be used for hauling of equipment or materials for this pro iect. ? The Contractor and his suppliers shall do all that is necessary to satisfy the Department, of Transportation requirements and will be responsible for any damage to said roads which may be attributed to this project.. SP-w1?OG CL..EARTNG AND GRUPRTNG Within and immediately adjacent to the proposed streets within Forest. Glen Subdivision, the route of the sanitary sewer and location of all water mains w i. l 1. he cleared eared and grubbed by the Site Development. Contractor, The Contractor for this Contract shall be responsible for the clearing and grubbing of a.l.l other areas as necessary SP-2 to complete the work including the out, of st.reet-, trunk sewer extending through Forest. Glen to the Grants Creek trunk sewer. All. trees, stumps, and other debris cleared from these areas shall not, be buried within any sewer right of way or on the property of Locke Glen Tnc,, but shall be disposed of off site in accordance with applicable local and state rules and regulations. The cost of such clearing, grubbing and disposal shall be included in the Contractor's proposal. and no extra payment for this work wi.l.l be made by the Owner _ SP--I. os FROSTON CONTROL.. Erosion control requirements are shown on the Contract. Drawings and described elsewhere in these Documents. The Land Quality Section of NCDEHNR has approved these plans, however the Contractor shall. cont:.act a representative of the Land Quality Section and request a site meeting prior to any land disturbing activity. The Engineer and owner shall be notified of the scheduled meeting. The Contractor shall review the plans with the Land Quality Section representative and shall subsequently i.nst.al.l the required erosion control devices. The Contractor's work shall at all times be subject to inspection by Corps of Engineers representatives. W TL,_RNDS BOUNDARIES AND qEE_7_N111 N: The boundary of Jurisdictional Wetlands-and Waters impacted by the construction activities covered under this Contrac;t:, have been delineated and verified by a Corp of Engineers representative and field surveyed. Where installation of the proposed sewer impacts these Wetlands or Waters, the work area shall be limited to a maximum 20 foot, wide corridor as shown on the plans. Absolutely no activity is permitted in the wetlands or waters outside this 20 foot corridor . Adequate setbacks and erosion control. measures to prevent sloughing and erosion into wetlands or waters shall be maintained. The Wetland areas and Waters denoted on the plans are Jurisdictional. Wetlands and Waters of the United States based on current regulations and Corps of Engineers field review, and have been found to meet the Wetlands and Waters criteria based on soils, vegetation and hydrology. The Contractor is cautioned against judging the boundary or location of wetland or water areas based upon any other criteria. The limits of the work area sha.l.l be clearly flagged for the Contractor and any confusion or question as to actual. Wetland or Water" boundaries should be brought, to the attention of ..t.he Engineer, The Contractor is further cautioned regarding stockpiling or borrow areas outside the work easements shown on the plans. At such time as the Contractor decides to transport materials into or out of the work area, the Contractor shall be fully responsible for coordination and review as necessary with the Corps of Engineers representatives to verify that no impact will. occur to Wetlands or Waters. This requirement applies to actual fill. or borrow sites and to the transportation routes- WORK IN WETLAND AND WATER (a) Clearing - Removal of vegetation from Wetland areas shall. be accomplished in a manner so as to miniMi.ze impact to natural topsoils; ( b) Topsoil Removal - Where the sewer line traverses Wetland areas, the rapper h inches of topsoil shall be stripped, stockpiled, and returned to the surf ace of the excavated area following pipeline, i.nst.al.l.ation and restored to ori.gi.nal grade; SP--4 (c) Trench Excavation and Materials Storage -- All work within the Wetland or Waters areas must be restricted to the 20 foot, corridor including temporary roads, trench excavation, pipe installation, backfilli.ng, topsoil placement, stockpiling and final seeding.
