Upon review of your request for Water Quality Certification
to place fill material in 1.0 acre of wetlands for residential
fill located at Hwy. 50, Maple Hill, North Carolina in Pender
County, we have determined that the proposed fill can be covered
by General Water Quality Certification No. 2671 issued
January 21, 1992. A copy of the General Certification is
attached. This Certification may be used in qualifying for
coverage under Corps of Engineers' Nationwide Permit No. 26.

Dear Mr. Dorney,
My wife and I would like to obtain a Quality Certification for the property referenced on the
attached permits to construct our primary residence. Please find attached the copies of the
Nationwide Permit Verification that you requested.
This property is located off highway 50 approximately four miles from highway 53 in Maple
Hill, North Carolina. This property is one acre in size and is located above any
headwaters(Angola Creek). We plan to build a private, primary residence for our family in
the very near future.
There are no other rivers, creeks and streams adjacent to or near this property. Ms. Jean M
Benton, Field Coordinator for the US Army Corps of Engineers has provided the
Nationwide Permit Verification as requested.
We would like your immediate attention in obtaining the necessary documentation to
continue our plans for construction.

SUBJECT: Comments on applications for Section 401 lkaf,#OM certification for
Nationwide 404 Permit applications
Biologists on our staff have reviewed the following Nationwide 404 permit
applications and believe that the Section 401 Water Quality Certification can be issued
without significant harm to wetland resources, including fish and wildlife:
1. Jerome Davis, Pender County
2. David Allen, Wildlife Forester, NCWRC.
Due to insufficient staff and time limitations we are unable to comment on several
applications. This'-'no comment" should not be considered as either approval or
disapproval of the?,kork proposed. These projects are:
