Hi Jamie,
Please consider this a formal request for copies of those studies. If the state's legal staff determines that they are
privileged, please ask them to cite the state law which says they shouldn't be released.
Thanks.

Steve,
The company has marked the health studies as privileged. The state agency's legal staff will need to make a
determination about the degree to which information the company has provided us is privileged.

Hi Jamie,
The Sept. 5 letter from DEQ to Chernours says the company had only this year provided the department with
health studies that DuPont and Chernours had conducted previously on GenX. Can you get me a copy of those
studies? If not, can you provide me with a summary of them and their findings?
Thanks.

Hi Jamie,
Thanks for the quick reply. Two other quick questions. How does the presence of C8 (PFOA) bring additional
urgency to the investigation? Should it bring greater concern to nearby residents?
I appreciate it

Hi Jamie,
I was taking a look at the map showing the preliminary test results from the groundwater at Chemours. It looks like the
GenX level is hundreds of times the state drinking water goal and the PFOA (C8) level in a couple of places is 50
times the federal health advisory level.
Are those levels that should concern residents nearby?
People in this community deserve to know about the safety of their well water and we're working to get them answers.
As is our routine when we find. violations ofgroundwater rules on a regulated entity's property use are conducting
private well testing for people living near the facility to determine if any contamination has moved beyond the
Chemours facility into wells used for drinking. We will conduct the private well testing and Cake any appropriate steps
to protect peoples' drinking water, based on what the results show.
Also, has DEQ gotten any more results from tests at the Chemours plant?
We have not received new results from the Chemours plant.
DEQ-CFW 00084813
Has DEQ started taking water samples from nearby residences?
State officials plan to start collecting vatcr samples ('N- testing from residential vclls adjacent to the facility on Friday
as part of an ongoing investigation into the chemical GenX, which is produced by Chemours.
Finally, I noticed a subpoena on the website from a federal grand jury asking DEQ for Chemours documents. What is
that about?
In late July, the U.S. Attorney's Office issued DEQ with a subpoena that requests for the agency's documents,
including permits, environmental compliance information, reports, emailse research, and notes related to the Chemours
Company's Fayetteville Works facility. GenX and the other fluorinated chemicals. We are providing those documents
in a. rollinf, schedule to the U.S, Attorney's Office, We issued ancvs release about the subpoena. and posted the
subpoena itself. You can find the news release with the subpoena linked at:

Thanks.
