Mr. McCauley proposes to construct a small dam and pond (1/4
acre) on an unnamed tributary to Skeenah Creek for irrigation and
private recreation. Based on the information provided by the
applicant and our information on the range of trout in the
project area, we do not believe this project will cause
significant effects to waters supporting trout. However, the
pond outlet structure (standpipe) should be designed to release
cool water drawn off the bottom of the pond. This will ensure
good water quality in the pond and provide cooler water to
downstream habitats.
