Subject: Chemours production schedule for vinyl ether
Bridget and Jamie,
Our reporters have asked Chemours repeatedly about the schedule for vinyl ether production. We have gotten
nowhere.
Do you have knowledge of the production cycle or documentation that would show it? Do you have
documentation of trucks carting it off and it be logged in Arkansas? When Chemours officials were in
Wilmington, they said it'd be three trucks a day.
The level of GenX in the wastewater is lower when the vinyl ether that produces it is not in production, so
current testing could be less relevant than testing when the production is up and running.
On June 15 when Chemours was in Wilmington, Mike Johnson said the production was supposed to go three
more weeks, which means it ended July 7 or sooner. An excerpt from that meeting --
Mike Brown: "Is cycle (that produces GenX as byproduct) running right now?"
Mike Johnson:The current campaignsupposed to run three weeks (more)...- want to get samples
during that period, when the campaign is up and running"
