Subject: RE: Press Release Rollout for Wednesday, July 26, 2017

Hi all,
I have added some suggested language to the attached version of the release and key points.
As we have discussed internally, I understand the preference for a more simplified message [e.g., "we're advising that:
people can continue drinking and arising their water"] rather than a more specific, risk -based statement [i.e., "the risk of
health problems is low"'). However, I do think our messages need to consistently include an acknowledgment of the
uncertainties inherent in our risk assessment and acknowledge that choices about water use are ultimately individual
decisions. I thinly this, might help to address some of the criticisms we have heard from the public and the scientific
community- e.g. one received yesterday: "Let: [individuals] decide if, after this knowledge„ they avant: to continue to drink
the water. A blanket statement that it is safe to drink the water is just negligent".
Thanks for considering.
Zack
