Thank you. Sheila Holman, Assistant Secretary for DEQ, answered these kinds of questions for local officials earlier this
afternoon by phone and I think would be the best person to talk to you about it as well. I've asked her to give you a call
ausoon asshe's able to.

]on,
Hope you're well.
I wanted to make sure that you'd seen the Governor's letter to the EPA on this, available along with our news release
I also wanted to make sure you knew that leaders from the Governor's administration (deputy secretaries for DEQ and
DHHS) have been to Wilmington to discuss the issue with local officials and also participated in a public forum on it.
Let us get DEQ experts give you a call to give you the full background on the agency's ongoing investigation and address
your other questions.
Thanks,
NoeUe

a few minutes ago.
County commissioners from New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties, along with Mayor Saffo of
Wilmington, said at a news conference that Governor's office, NC DEQ and EPA need to come to the area arli
2ddress the issue of whether the drinking water is safe. Will the governor come here to discuss the issue?
Should the attorney general come here?
The leaders also asked if the governor or the attorney general have decided whether Chemours violated the
law, and its permits, by discharging GenX into the Cape Fear River?
Leaders said the Governor and attorney general need to let the people of southeastern North Carolina know
what is going on with investigations into Chemours and Dupont dumping unregulated chemicals into Cape
Fear River. What is the status of these investigations?
