County commissioners from New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties, along with Mayor Saffo of Wilmington, said at a news conference that Governor's office, NC DEQ and EPA need to come to the area arli 2ddress the issue of whether the drinking water is safe. Will the governor come here to discuss the issue? Should the attorney general come here? The leaders also asked if the governor or the attorney general have decided whether Chemours violated the law, and its permits, by discharging GenX into the Cape Fear River? Leaders said the Governor and attorney general need to let the people of southeastern North Carolina know what is going on with investigations into Chemours and Dupont dumping unregulated chemicals into Cape Fear River. What is the status of these investigations?
