Sharon, I have attached a few documents that may be of interest to you. April 2016, Chernours submits
"renewal" application. I have put renewal in quotes because this us renewing a Dupont permit which was issued
prior to Chernours LLC was formed. In addition, Dupont sold a unit to Kuraray America ( Japanese) at the
same time frame as Dupont "voluntarily" entered stewardship program with other American companies to cease
making/using PFOA (C8). I suspect this is a piece of the shell game.
PFOA is still being discharged today + I believe I sent a screenshot of EPA discharge report. That discharge
permit is actually listed under Kuraray, not Chernours on EPA site. On the renewal package, it looks as though
Chemours is responsible for discharge permits for each customer in the business Park. ( Which is one site
originally owned by Dupont).
The December 2016 corrective measures action plan spells out that a well tested I Ox higher than EPA lifetime
advisory level. While in the renewal package Chernours ask for permission to stop monthly monitoring of
PFOA.
One aspect is not addressed at all so far. Many of the residents on the Atlantic coast are on a well. My well is
connected to the Castle Hayne aquifer. And some smaller water utilities draw from the Castle Hayne
aquifer. The Castle Hayne aquifer is pumped or recharged in the lower Cape Fear region to offset higher
usage during the summer months for example. This is done to keep the salt water from encroaching from the
Atlantic ocean, where the aquifer is at a higher point near Castle Hayne NC. (Hence the name, but this
aquifer reaches into NJ, so it is very large)
In addition, the Cape Fear River was dredged by the Corp of engineers to deepen the channel for port traffic, i.e.
barges and tankers. They dredged within 17 feet of the aquifer, so the Cape Fear River leaks in the aquifer as
well as having river water pumped into aquifer. In essence, the aquifer is poisoned with all the PFC's from
Dupont et a].

So the well I drink from is likely poisoned just like the river.
So now instead of water utility company customers being affected, now we are looking at 500,000 or so I the
lower Cape Fear Region. And Smithfield packing is slaughtering and packages 35000 hogs daily. Smithfield
is located in tarheel, NC, not to far from Dupont, chemours, Kuraray site.
We are eating and drinking poison daily. I have also attached a letter from the CFPUA to the NC DENR
secretary.
Thanks for your continued interest in this catastrophic mess thanks to legacy Dupont.
