Subject: Cape Fear River Toxin Gen-x
The Chemours Company has informed the public that it is releasing fluorochemical compounds
known as Genx • the Cape Fear River with its waste water at its manufacturing facility in
concernsFayetteville, NC.
The EPA has • to people and ordered • • complete
studies. Chemoursnot completed the required studiesordered by l Chemours
operating under a permit that is currently under review by the NC Dept of Environmental Quality.
This is a demand that express and immediate action be taken by the Honorable Roy Cooper,
Governor and the States Attorney General, Josh Stein, Secretary for the Environment, Micha
Regan to use any and all measures at their disposal to immediately halt the discharge of Gen
and any all and all suspect or unregulated fluorochemical compounds until such time as the
EPA and NC DHHS and DEQ can complete comprehensive and independent investigations
being poisoned by our water.
I further demand that these agencies make public all their sourcing and conclusions.
I further demand that the DEQ pause any permit renewal process until such time as the abov
listed denaTds are satisfied.
