On Wednesday December 181" Morganton had a dip tank spill, the over flow came over the front of the tank on
to the ground. I was notified by Isaiah Reed of NCDEQ that our dip tank had over flowed. I reached out to Doug Willis
about the notification of this issue with the dip tanks, He stated that there was a spill at the facility. He stated" due to
excessive rain and snow that he believes the tank to have been to full. I drove down to Morganton facility to assist with
the issue and to handle the proper procedure to correct the spill. We cleaned up the spill according to the SIDS sheets,
Storm water permits and chemical sales rep. I was told to control the spill by stopping it from flowing away from the
initial spill site and to place absorbent on it. Doug explained to me that chemicals had not been added to the tank for
more than three weeks and due excessive rain and snow fall, the tank was heavy diluted. We controlled the spill with
placing absorbent on it and I will give the spill time to absorb and dry and at that time we will then place any waste in
barrels and have it removed from the facility as waste. We are recessing the front of the dip tank and correcting the
issue to keep from having further issues.
