Upon review of your request for Water Quality Certification
to place fill material in 0.31 acres of wetlands for storm sewer
and storm drain construction, we have determined that, the
proposed fill can be covered by General Water Quality
Certification No. 2176 issued November 4; 1987. A copy of the
General Certification is attached. This Certification may be
used in qualifying for coverage under Corps of Engineers'
Nationwide Permit No. 26.

I recommend a general 401 water quality certification be issued or
waived on the following projects:
1. Glaxo Child Care Center - Durham County
2. Eastern NC School for the Deaf - Wilson County
3. Bishops Row Subdivision - Nash County
I have not visited these sites. All are less than one acre, above
headwaters, and will have no significant impacts. The wetlands impacts
are associated with sewer line construction or isolated wetlands.

The Army Corps of Engineers, Vilmington District, has identified
areas of wetlands in small areas in which we are constructing a
sanitary sewer service and storm drain. This area consists of
0.31 acres and the Corps has authorized the placement of fill
under their Nationwide Permit contingent upon the acquisition of a
Water Quality Certification from your office.
Your assistance in obtaining the Water Quality Certification for
this project is appreciated.
