Cleveland County — Amendment after second visit
Dear Mr. Basinger:
In our initial response to the post -inspection letter of August 15, 2018 we provided an action plan
and schedule as you requested. Based on your direction, the action plan remains the same and the
end date of August 1, 2019 is unchanged. However, you wanted a different priority for the work
and we are proposing the following dates in response. Kings Mountain Travel Plaza proposes to
complete the work as described previously by the amended dates indicated in the following list of
items from the Notice of Violation.
Priority indicated by DEQ Water Quality - and subsequent changed schedule

1. 2 Two septic tanks — repair leaks and connection piping August 1,
2019 May 1, 2019 new date
2. 3 Inactive aeration basins - install blowers and grating May 1,
2019 Alade contact with venders and contractors June 1, 2019
3. 4 Aerobic digester and holding tank leaks and repair — inspect and repair January I,
2019 August 1, 2019 new date
4. 1 Flow meter chart recorder — repair and put in operation October 15,
2018 Leak ba.s been faxed NOT/ work done but our discussion indicates the need calibration check for
S% aeruraey and ORC )iants to investigate a new flow ureter Calibration schedule and complete
alterations (new task) if necessary by February 1, 2019
5. 5 Right-of-way to the outfall 001—clearing and inspection November 1,
2018 This task is completed'

The work on the flow meter at the effluent is seen by the Owner as a new task and if alterations are
made to the flow measurement and recorder, it will take additional time which is reflected in the end
date as indicated above. Thank you for taking time to come to the site and see the plant equipment
and items that we are repairing and/or rebuilding. We hope these changes will meet your
requirements.
