Corporon,P.G. permatin9 NC DEQ/DWR 1617 Mail Service Center Raleigh NC 27699-1617 Dear Mr. Corporon: Upon review of the Draft NPDES Permit NC0085111, Heather Glen Subdivision,we offer the following comments for your consideration: 1. Section 1-Process Components:No booster pumps to backwash storage tank exists on site. We ask that this be removed. 2. Effluent Limitations and Monitoring Requirements: Sample collection is to be achieved by composite collection. In the event that operation resumes in the future, sample collection occurs only while filters are being backwashed. This process takes approximately 30 minutes per filter and is done manually, making composite sampling nearly impossible, as there is no steady stream of effluent over a long period of time. We ask that all collections be permitted as grab samples. 3. Housekeeping Issues: J Bryce Mendenhall rather than Beyce, and Stephen Harrell rather than Harwell. Respectfully, Dana Hill Regional Manager 4944 Parkway Plaza Boulevard, Suite 375 • Charlotte, North Carolina 28217 (800) 525-7990 • cwsnc@carolinawaterservicenc.com •www.carolinawaterservicenc.com
