Upon review of your request for Water Quality Certification
to place fill material in wetlands adjacent to a tributary to
Alamance Creek, we have determined that the proposed fill can be
covered by General Water Quality Certification No. 2176 issued
November 4, 1987. A copy of the General Certification is
attached. This Certification may be used in qualifying for
coverage under Corps of Engineers' Nationwide Permit No. 26.

The concerned project consists of a 12 acre commercial site in Guilford County.
Our firm was recently informed that our project lies in the wetlands determined
by the Army Corps of Engineers, as we discussed in our October 20th phone
conversation.
We are requesting that the proposed fill action to be covered under the general
certification for fill above headwater areas, qualifying for coverage under Corps
of Engineers nationwide permit No. 26.
I have enclosed a copy of the preliminary plat with the wetlands highlighted for
your use and, at your request, a vicinity map showing the location of our
project.
