The project will utilize stage construction methods during construction. Anticipated Permit or Consultation Requiremeuts: Nationwide Permit No. 3& 401 Certification. Written notification is required for this � iect due to aquatic & environmental impacts 1. Outside river corridor = Yes. 2. Below impact threshold for applicable N WP = No. N WP 3 Required. 3. Tree clearing= Yes (Sycamore, White pine) —(follow moratorium). A. Trout watershed = Yes (follow moratorium unless verif cation NCWRC letter states no). 5. NLEB HUC = No. Greater than 0.25 iniles from U.S. F& W NLEB "Red HLTC". NWP 3 and written 401 Certi�cation will be required for proposed project. Special Project Information: The bridge and surrounding area were suiveyed on 3.15.2016 and 7.29.2018 for bats rare plants, respectively and no specimens or evidence were found. Potentially suitable habitat near the bridge was intensively surveyed but on specimens were detected. Big Creek is listed as a Class C; Tr., HQW stream type. • High Quality Water best management practices will be utilized during construction. . Project will adhere to NCDOT best management practices. Avoidance of erosion and sedimentation into Big Creek and downstream habitats. • Trees will be cleared from October 15 to April 15 to avoid potential roosting by Indiana bats.
