The project has been reviewed to determine impacts to water quality. The following comments have been provided. 1. The project will require a 401 Water Quality Certification. 2. The project complies with the General 401 Water Quality Certification No. 2176 for the placement of fill material in headwaters or isolated wetlands. 3. The proposed project should be done in such a way as to not cause the turbidity outside the immediate construction area to exceed 25 NTU. 4. A stormwater management plan for the 26 acre tract is under review by this office. This office has no objection to the project as proposed. This new in- dustrial development is locating at the intersection of Com- merce Street and Industry Drive on a 26.85 acre tract of land located within Brunswick County's Leland Industrial Park lo- cated along US 74-76. THis Exide facility will be a very positive, long sought after high-tech resident of The Indust- rial Park and will employee about 500 persons when completed. The 404 pine flat wetlands were identified by our com- pany, verified by The Army Corps of Engineers, and subsequently surveyed by Jack Stocks, R. L.S. and are illustrated on the attached preliminary site plan. The Exide Electronics Corp- oration hopes to start construction within the next 35 days so a timely review would be greatly appreciated.
