Subject: [Non-DoD Source] W-5601A_Rhodestown Rd_revision to impacts
Brad and Joanne,
On 10/18/2018, Mason sent you a revision to the amount of permanent impacts needed
on the W-5601A project, as 8 feet of additional pipe was needed. Those impacts were
originally thought to be needed at the outlet of the proposed pipe. However, the 8 feet
of additional pipe was needed at the inlet of the proposed pipe. I have attached a plan
sheet with a note to show where the extra 8 feet was added.
Since that revision, the resident's office has also requested that the original 24" RCP
pipe (which is under the existing roadbed) is failing at the shoulder point and at other
locations within the run of the pipe. Therefore, the resident's office is requesting to
remove the existing pipe once traffic is switched onto the new alignment. I have
attached a plan sheet with a note calling out the location of this existing pipe. The
contractor will plan to dewater the site during removal and will construct 3:1 side slopes
with coir fiber matting to stabilize the area.
The onlyjurisdictional feature on this project is the non-mitigable tributary at Site 1.
The addition of the 8 feet of pipe, plus the impacts for removal of the original pipe will
bring the total permanent impacts to 657ft2 or 0.0151 acre. Therefore, the total
permanent impacts are now at 0.02 acre when rounded. Please see the attached
revised impact summary sheet. Please note that the total temporary impacts did not
show up in the bottom row since they are 0.004 acre.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Anneliese
