Steve,
We have 2 substandard bridges (#275 &#276) that must be shored up for equipment just to make it to Caldwell
#123. This bridge has already been permitted (never got the 404). The stream classification is B and WRC did not
request a moratorium. The temporary shoring impact area is below the notification threshold under NWP #3
buuuuuuttt, the area is within a trout watershed and it looks like the contractor will be doing this work early next year
during the moratorium period. We are therefore notifying you of the activity. If you need anything further, please
advise.

Re: Temporary Bridge Bents — First Submittal
On November 21, 2018, our office received, for our review and approval, a submittal for the temporary bridge bents for
the project mentioned above. The submittal, prepared by Mountain Creek Contractors, Incorporated, consisted of
calculations (130 pages), three working drawings, and a Ken Frye email dated November 21, 2018.

Structures Management, in conjunction with the Geotechnical Engineering Unit, has completed its review of the
drawings. They have been stamped "Accepted—December 12, 2018".
Please find attached a scanned electronic copy of the reviewed submittal for your handling with the Contractor. We do
not plan to distribute hard copies unless you request otherwise.
