BIO REPORT
PAGE 2
SITE REPORT
Applicant owns two lots, lot 4 (200' X 216' X 1361), lot 4A
(100' X 2001), along Coinjock' Development Road (SR 1165),
Coinjock, N.C., fronting on the Intracoastal Waterway.
The land lies level approximately 3' above mean sea level.
The soil on these lots has a sandy texture. Vegetation consists
of a mixture of lawn grasses, a few loblolly trees (Pinus taeda)
and ornamental shrubs.
Existing on lot 4 is a 40' X 30' triplex (being
refurbished), a 24' X 32' storage/work shop, and a 12' X 16'
screened garden building. The property is bulkheaded and has a
boat basin with a single boat ramp (11' X 241). The mouth of the
boat basin is approximately 15' wide. It is 92' long and is 30'
wide at its widest point.
The only development on lot 4A is a small brick (21' X 251)
house.
The applicant proposes to repair the existing bulkhead where
needed, maintaining the existing bulkhead alignment. From her
bulkhead she wishes to construct a 6' wide walkway over the
Intracoastal water supported by pilings driven 8' waterward of the
existing bulkhead (and NWL) staying in alignment with the
adjoining property owners' existing pilings. The applicant
proposes to construct a 28' X 20' open-sided boat shed over the
"L" section of her boat basin. In addition, she seeks
permission to maintenance dredge the boat basin and an access
channel to a depth of 31.
ANTICIPATED IMPACTS
The project will result in the excavation of 2550 sq. ft. of
shallow water habitat. This process and the driving of pilings
along the Intracoastal Waterway will result in localized
temporary turbidity. The applicant will place the approximately
283 cubic yards of, dredged material on lot 4. The proposed` dock
will extend no further waterward than the existing pilings along
the shoreline of the riparian landowners" properties.
CAMA REVIEW
This project is consistent with the Currituck County LUP.
No archaeological sites have been identified on this property.

only high quality copies will be accepted. Blue-line
prints or other larger plats are acceptable only if 16 high
quality copies are provided by applicant. (Contact the
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers regarding that agency's
