The North Carolina Department of Transportation Structures Management Unit has
begun studying the replacement of the following:
BR-0116 — Bridge No. 630080 over Gideon Swamp on SR 1403 ROW June 2019 Let
June 2020
The projects are included in the 2018-2027 North Carolina State Transportation
Improvement Program (STIP).
We would appreciate any information you might have that would be helpful in evaluating
potential environmental impacts of the project. If applicable, please identify any permits
or approvals which may be required by your agency. Your comments will be used in the
preparation of a Categorical Exclusion Checklist. This document will be prepared in
accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act. It is desirable that your agency
respond by January 15, 2019 so that your comments can be used in the preparation of
this document. See attached for a copy of the vicinity map and study area for the bridge
replacement project.
