As specified by Condition 5 of the subject individual water quality certification, the Piedmont Triad Airport Authority
(PTAA) is providing written notification (attached) of an observed exceedance of the turbidity benchmark at
Station IS#8A. On December 2, 2018, a turbidity of 55.12 NTU was observed — the benchmark is 50.
Per my voice message, PTAA is planning to investigate potential causes of this exceedance and the greater exceedance
observed in the adjacent Horsepen Creek tributary (IS#07) upstream of the "HAECO" (IS#8A) tributary on

Facility Improvements at Piedmont Triad International Airport, Guilford County
Pursuant to Condition No. 5 of the subject individual water quality certification (WQC), the
Piedmont Triad Airport Authority (PTAA) is hereby providing written notification to the
Division WSRO of a turbidity benchmark exceedance at NPDES Permit NCS000508 water
quality monitoring location IS 48A near the Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO).
On December 3, 2018, the Piedmont Triad Airport Authority was notified that results from the
discharge monitoring conducted on December 2 exceeded the benchmark value of 50 NTU for
turbidity as follows:
