Describe the existing conditions on the site and the general land use in the vicinity of the project at the time of this application:* The project involves safery improvements to NC 107 to upgrade to current standards. There are 8 stream crossings with impacts. Standard road building equipment will be used. Since project commenced construction in early 2017, only 1/2 of the permitted impacts have been completed because the work will take several construction seasons to complete, partly because of staged construction and on-site detouring of heavy traffic. We therefore are requesting authorization to complete all permitted impacts and finish this project. 4b. Retaining walls are used to prevent river impacts. Site 5 was redesigned to eliminate a temporary causeway in the river. 1b.
