Tim,
Today IUP 001 GKN has stopped discharge from the pretreatment facilities located at 1848
GKN Way to the Town of Maiden Waste Water Treatment Plant. This stoppage is in
preparation of the dismantling of the current system and the installation of a new evaporation
unit that will treat the wastewater going forward.
The initial plan for this activity was slated for October 2018 however, I have been informed
that the equipment supplier has moved our install ahead and as a result the demolition of the
current system is under way.
As a result there will be no quarterly sampling for the current quarter as required by the
permit. The flow log will show discharge through August 21, 2018. If required GKN will
continue to submit the monthly flow log for your records.
Please contact me if any additional information is required.
