Below is a summary and reasoning for this updated lists submittal. Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic Soda) — The previously submitted table 5.1 lists "Caustic Acid" which was a typo, and should have been listed as "Caustic Soda". This chemical will be used in the new FGD WWTS, for pH adjustment in the Submerged Flight Conveyors (SFCs), and for pH adjustment at the Retention and Holding Basins. Sodium Carbonate (Soda Ash) — This will be used for pH adjustment in the Submerged Flight Conveyors (SFCs). Included in the submittal are the following: • Updated Marshall Steam Station Hazardous and Toxic Substances Table 5.1 • The SDS sheets for Sodium Hydroxide and Sodium Carbonate. www.duke-energy.com Marshall Steam Station Duke Energy 8320E Hwy 150 Terrell,NC 28682 828 478-7820 Duke Energy does not anticipate or requests modification to the permit as a result of this submittal but is providing this update to assure the NPDES permit application is up to date.
