Box 1302 Vidalia, GA 30475 Subject: Request for More Information 401 Water Quality Certification Ten Slip Private Marina Lot 8 (Luckystone Subdivision) DWQ Project 1109-0568 Jackson County Response deadline: August 10, 2009 or 30 days from receipt Dear Mr. Lowman: The Division of Water Quality (DWQ) has performed a preliminary review of a 401 Water Quality Certification application submitted for the above re{crcnced property. Additional information will be required in order to complete the review process. Please provide the following information so that we may continue to review your project. Additional Information Requested: Luckystone Dock Association does not appear to be a legally registered entity. In order to permit this activity, the permittee must be a legally registered entity with the Secretary of State. The proposed 10 slip marina will be located in Lake Glenville, as Class WS-III, B, HQW water body. Per 15A NCAC 211 .0215(3)(b)(1)(1- I) for WS (water supply) water bodies, water dependent structures `'may be allowed where no practicable alternative exists." Because the lake hosts public marinas, please provide information as to the necessity of an additional marina. Information and/or concurrence from Jackson County should be provided ensuring that the proposed marina and associated access complies with Jackson County watershed ordinances (as this is a Class WS-III water body). This letter only addresses the preliminary application review and does not authorize any impacts to wetlands, waters or protected buffers.
