These solids are pumped to a Residuals Lagoon. Any decant water from the lagoon is sent to the Rocky River WWTP, Cabarrus County (Local Pretreatment No. 203). Solids/Alum Residuals are generally removed from the lagoon and disposed of, per regulations, when necessary. Budgeting has been approved to contract out the removal of solids from the lagoon in 2019. These solids will be removed in compliance with state and local regulations. Backwash water is sent to an Equalization basin and then pumped to a circular Clarifier, which settles out the solids. A scraper arm pushes solids into a trough and then sends them to the sludge pumping station where they are pumped to the Solids Lagoon. The decant water is then de - chlorinated and sent to Bakers Branch of Irish Buffalo Creek.. Flow measurement is calibrated quarterly by Fortech, Inc, Charlotte, NC.
