The system has not discharged since 2010. The Permittee requests renewal to provide for future
use (start date unspecified). The application (signed 170ct2018) identifies the system as having
one well (#4), two (2) greensand filters, two (2) softeners, soda ash and hypochlorite chemical
feeding equipment, and one finished water ground storage tank for distribution.
System design flow is listed as 0.036 MGD with an estimated wastewater flow from filtration
backwash and softener reject waters averaging 0.003 MGD. Permit renewal updated limits and
monitoring requirements considering a combined treatment system utilizing both ion -exchange
and greensand technologies applied from active permitting strategies WTP 2009, amended 2012
[see Section A. (1.)].
This facility discharges to an unnamed tributary to Sevenmile Creek within the Neuse River
Basin. The receiving waterbody is classified as WS-IV; NSW and it is not listed on the 2014
303(d) list of impaired waters. Considering that the facility has not discharged since 2010, BIMS
has no effluent data or compliance records; WET testing: no data since 2010. Permittee currently
submits monthly DMRs as "no flow." The cover letter suggests the Permittee should apply to the
Division for a DMR reporting waver.
