Hi. I'm a cycle commuter and have noted a buffer violation adjacent to Mine Creek
(flows into Shelly Lake). I reported this several months ago and the problem has
not been corrected, so I'm sending another email. Adjacent to the paved greenway
path, it appears as though the Raleigh City Parks maintenance staff cut a channel
from the path directly to the stream to drain water that was ponding. The channel
is about three feet wide and is a direct conduit for runoff into the creek. One
can access this area from the point where North Hills Drive crosses over the
greenway. This violation is a short walk from North Hills Drive and before one gets
to a footbridge that crosses over Mine Creek. Thanks.
