D.O.T. Standards.
6.All catch basins, manholes, piping and other utility components within
traffic areas shall be capable of supporting H-20 loading.
7.It is the contractors responsibility to verify all on-site and off-site field
conditions and verify that no changes have occurred since the
issuance of this plan. The design engineer is to be notified of any
changes which conflict with this plan.
8.The erosion control line (SF) is to be considered as the limit of
disturbance unless otherwise noted hereon (LOD).
9.The contractor shall verify all dimensions, elevations and quantities
shown on these plans prior to proceeding with construction and any
discrepancies shall be reported to the engineer whom shall have final
say as to the actual dimensions to construct by.
10.Strict adherence to all OSHA, Town or City and State of North Carolina
regulations regarding construction is required at all times.
11.Contractor shall notify call-before-you-dig (811) for utility markout
prior to construction.
12.The contractor shall be fully responsible for job safety.
13.All utilities to be installed underground.
14.Utility locations will be as determined by the utility companies.
15.The location and elevation of underground utilities is unknown. if
they are indicated at all on these plans, they are approximate and G.L.
Wilson Building Company, it's principals or employees, shall not be
responsible for any damages and/or additional costs which might
result from the existence of said utilities.
16.The contractor shall determine the exact location of all existing utilities
before commencing any work and agrees to be fully responsible for
any and all damages which might occur by his failure to exactly locate
and preserve any and all underground utilities.
17.All grading shall be performed to eliminate low points and depressions
which would trap surface water. contact the design engineer if
changes are warranted.
18.Grading to be to all applicable regulations and normal standards of
good practice.
19.Minor grading changes are permitted to meet field conditions provided
prior approval is obtained from the engineer.
20.Grading shall maintain existing runoff conditions.
21.All backfill for buildings, trenches, structures, parking, driveway and
sidewalk etc. shall be adequately compacted to prevent excessive
settlement. Contact the engineer should additional clarification be
necessary.
22.Contractor to match into existing conditions at all points where
construction must match such existing conditions.
23.Soil type consists of sandy clay loam.
24.All erosion control measures employed on the project site shall be
constructed, installed, utilized and maintained in accordance with the
NCDENR Erosion and Sediment Control Planning and Design Manual
and shall be inspected and maintained on a monthly basis and as
needed following peak rainfall events.
25.Clean topsoil encountered in the grading process shall be incorporated
into the surfaces of slopes, used for embankment and berms in
non-structural areas and/or stored in designated topsoil storage areas
as shown on the project plans.
26.The owner shall be responsible for all permanent measures following
completion of construction. During the construction phase, contact the
engineer should problems occur with any measures.
27.The project is subject to self-inspection and monitoring for each phase
of the grading and measures must be inspected at least once per 7
calendar days and within 24 hours of a rainfall event greater than 0.5
inches per 24 hour period, reference NCDEMLR Monioring Form.
28.The project site is located in a Phase II MSI or UA area, as designated
by the North Carolina Division of Energy, Mineral and Land Quality as
appears on the Stormwater Permitting Interactive Map; Local
Permitting Authority.
29.Grading Note: Temporary diversions are to be moved and maintained
during the grading process in a manner which directs runoff away
from silt fences, when possible, and toward sediment traps/basins at
all times.
30.Concerns with erosion control issues during construction are to be
directed to:

INSTALLATION
DETAIL
1.Prepare soil before installing rolled
erosion control products (RECPs),
including any necessary
application of lime, fertilizer, and
seed.
2.Begin at the top of the slope by
anchoring the RECPs in a
6"(15cm) deep X 6"(15cm) wide
trench with approximately 12"
(30cm) of RECPs extended beyond
the up-slope portion of the trench.
Anchor the RECPs with a row of
staples/stakes approximately 12"
(30cm) apart in the bottom of the
trench. Backfill and compact the
trench after stapling. Apply seed to
the compacted soil and fold the
remaining 12"(30cm) portion of
RECPs back over the seed and
compacted soil. Secure RECPs
over compacted soil with a row
of staples/stakes spaced
approximately 12"(30cm) apart
across the width of the RECPs.
3.Roll the RECPs (A) down or (B)
horizontally across the slope.
RECPs will unroll with appropriate
side against the soil surface. All
RECPs must be securely fastened
to soil surface by placing
staples/stakes in appropriate
locations as shown in the staple
pattern guide.
4.The edges of parallel RECPs must
be stapled with approximately 2" -
5" (5-12.5cm) overlap depending
on the RECPs type.
5.Consecutive RECPs spliced down
the slope must be end over end
(Shingle style) with an approximate
3"(7.5cm) overlap. Staple through
overlapped area, approximately
12"(30cm) apart across entire
RECPs width.
