Beaufort, NC 28516 Subject: Geothermal well sampling results Permit Number W10800158 Carteret County Dear Mr. Shultz: ROY COOPER Governor MICHAEL S. REGAN Secretary LINDA CULPEPPER Interim Director On August 9, 2018 staff from the Division of Water Resources sampled the source well water and the water from the geothermal heat pump system prior to injection. The samples were analyzed by the Division's laboratory for coliform, total dissolved solids, metals, nitrates and other inorganic constituents. No exceedances of the State Groundwater Standards were observed except for a slight exceedance for fecal coliform from the source well (however, the laboratory noted a qualifier on this result). Our recommendation is to shock chlorinate the source well. A copy of this procedure is enclosed, in addition to the lab results for your review. Should you have any questions concerning this letter, please feel free to contact me at (910) 796-7215 or by email at geoff.keRley@ncdenr.Rov. Sincerely, DocuSigned by: C017E2515D3B417...
