THE CONTRACTOR SHALL HAVE A COMPLETE SET OF CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AS WELL AS ALL PERMIT APPROVALS AND EASEMENTS ON THE JOB SITE AT ALL TIMES. 2. INTERRUPTION OF WASTEWATER FLOWS THROUGH EXISTING FACILITIES IS NOT PERMITTED WITHOUT PRIOR WRITTEN APPROVAL OF OWNER. SUBMIT FOR APPROVAL OF CONSTRUCTION PLANS WITH DETAILS, SCHEDULE AND TECHNIQUES TO BE USED PRIOR TO MAKING CONNECTIONS TO EXISTING PIPES OR STRUCTURES. PARTIAL INTERRUPTIONS OF FLOWS TO BE SCHEDULED DURING LOW FLOW PERIODS FOR AS SHORT A DURATION AS PRACTICAL. MAKE PROVISIONS FOR ACCOMMODATING PEAK FLOWS WHICH MAY OCCUR DURING CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS. OWNER AND OPERATOR TO BE NOTIFIED WHEN ANY INTERRUPTIONS ARE TO BE MADE. 3. PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION, CONTRACTOR TO UNCOVER AND VERIFY THE DEPTHS AND HORIZONTAL LOCATION OF EXISTING LINES AND UTILITIES TO BE EXTENDED, CONNECTED TO, OR CROSSED BY THIS PROJECT. THIS INFORMATION IS TO BE SHOWN ON THE CONTRACTORS "RED LINE" DRAWINGS. NO SEPARATE PAY. 4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL HAVE A COMPLETE SET OF CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AS WELL AS ALL PERMIT APPROVALS AND EASEMENTS ON THE JOB SITE AT ALL TIMES. IT IS THE CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITY TO OBTAINED THE BUILDING PERMITS AT HIS EXPENSE. 5. CONTRACT WILL BE COORDINATED SO THAT THE CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE CAN BE FOLLOWED. THE SUPPLIER/MANUFACTURER REPRESENTATIVE MUST BE PRESENT TO ASSIST WITH ALL INTERMEDIATE AND FINAL STARTUPS. THE ENGINEER WILL INSPECT THE FACILITIES PRIOR TO STARTUP. CONTRACTOR SHALL ASSURE HIMSELF THAT ALL CONSTRUCTION PERMITS HAVE BEEN OBTAINED PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF WORK. REQUIRED PERMITS THAT CAN BE ISSUED TO CONTRACTOR WILL BE OBTAINED AT HIS EXPENSE. 6. CONSTRUCTION AND MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS SHALL CONFORM TO THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA REQUIREMENTS AND THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. 7. ALL SHOP DRAWINGS MUST BE REVIEWED AND APPROVED BY ENGINEER BEFORE EQUIPMENT IS ORDERED. 8. ANY REFERENCE TO CODES OR SPECIFICATIONS SHALL BE WITH RESPECT TO CURRENT EDITIONS OF THE SAME. 9. ALL KNOWN EXISTING UTILITIES HAVE BEEN LOCATED FROM THE INFORMATION AVAILABLE . IT IS THE CONTRACTORS RESPONSIBILITY TO ACCURATELY LOCATE BOTH HORIZONTALLY AND VERTICALLY ALL EXISTING UTILITIES PRIOR TO START OF CONSTRUCTIONS (NORTH CAROLINA 811 336-855-5760). ALL COST ASSOCIATED WITH ANY DAMAGE TO KNOWN OR UNKNOWN EXISTING UTILITIES RESULTING FROM THE CONTRACTORS FAILURE TO ADEQUATELY PROTECT THE EXISTING UTILITIES DURING CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE BORNE SOLELY BY THE CONTRACTOR. 10. CONTRACTOR SHALL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO SAVE PROPERTY IRONS, MONUMENTS, OTHER PERMANENT POINTS AND LINES OF REFERENCE AND CONSTRUCTION STAKES. A REGISTERED LAND SURVEYOR AT THE CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE SHALL REPLACE PROPERTY IRONS, MONUMENTS, AND OTHER PERMANENT POINTS OF REFERENCE DESTROYED BY THE CONTRACTOR. 11. BUILDING LOCATIONS ARE APPROXIMATE AND SHOWN FOR INFORMATION ONLY. 12. CONTRACTOR SHALL REPAIR ALL DRIVEWAYS, PAVED OR UNPAVED, TO EXISTING OR BETTER CONDITIONS IF DISTURBED BY CONSTRUCTION. 13. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR RELOCATIONS OF EXISTING UTILITIES IF REQUIRED DURING INSTALLATION OF NEW WORK. THERE WILL BE NO ADDITIONAL OR SEPARATE PAY ITEM FOR THIS WORK UNLESS SPECIFICALLY CALLED OUT IN THE BID FORM. ANY RELOCATION OF EXISTING UTILITIES MUST BE COORDINATED WITH AFFECTED UTILITY COMPANY. 14. THE FINISHED GRADE ELEVATIONS SHOWN ARE INTENDED TO PROVIDE DRAINAGE AWAY FROM THE TREATMENT PLANT FACILITIES. MINOR FIELD CHANGES MAY BE NECESSARY TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE DRAINAGE. GRADE UNIFORMLY BETWEEN ELEVATIONS SHOWN TO PROVIDE DRAINAGE. 15. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL RESTORE ALL DISTURBED AREAS TO THE EXISTING GRADE UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED ON THE DRAWINGS. 16. ALL EXCAVATED MATERIAL SHALL BE PLACED WITHIN THE LIMITS OF DISTURBANCE DURING UTILITY INSTALLATION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE NECESSARY SEDIMENT AND EROSION CONTROL MEASURES TO CONTROL RUN-OFF. ALL EXCESS EXCAVATED MATERIAL SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE CONSTRUCTION SITE AND DISPOSED OF LEGALLY. 17. YARD PIPING LOCATIONS SHOWN ARE APPROXIMATE. FIELD VERIFY LOCATION OF EXISTING PIPE AND ARRANGE NEW PIPING AS NECESSARY TO AVOID INTERFERENCE AND PROVIDE CLEARANCE NOTED. ALL CHANGES IN PIPING SHALL BE DOCUMENTED ON REQUIRED "RED LINE DRAWINGS." 18. NOTIFY THE NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY (NCDEQ) ONSLOW COUNTY STORMWATER/EROSION CONTROL ENGINEER AT 919-807-6372 AND WILMINGTON REGIONAL OFFICE AT 910-796-7215 OF CONSTRUCTION COMMENCEMENT AND SCHEDULE PRE -CONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE IF REQUIRED BY THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER. 2. INSTALL CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCES, SILT FENCE, STONE DRAINS, AND OTHER MEASURES AS SHOWN ON THE APPROVED PLAN. CLEAR ONLY AS REQUIRED TO INSTALL THESE DEVICES. SEED TEMPORARY DIVERSIONS, BERMS, AND BASINS IMMEDIATELY AFTER CONSTRUCTION. 3. BEGIN CLEARING AND GRUBBING. STOCKPILE TOPSOIL AND SUITABLE FILL MATERIAL. INSTALL SILT FENCE AROUND STOCKPILE AREAS. CONTRACTOR TO CONDUCT A WEEKLY SITE INSPECTION AND AFTER EACH RAINFALL EVENT TO DETERMINE WHICH AREAS CAN BE TEMPORARILY OR PERMANENTLY SEEDED, WHICH DEVICES NEED MAINTENANCE, REPAIR, ETC. AND TO ENSURE THAT THE EROSION CONTROL MEASURES ARE PERFORMING ADEQUATELY. PERFORM ANY NECESSARY MAINTENANCE. 6. STABILIZE SITE AS AREAS ARE BROUGHT TO FINISHED GRADE WITH VEGETATION OR STONE BASE. MAINTAIN EROSION CONTROL DEVICES UNTIL SITE IS COMPLETELY STABILIZED. 7. FERTILIZE, SEED, AND MULCH ALL DISTURBED AREAS ACCORDING TO SEEDING SCHEDULE. 8. WHEN CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETE AND ALL AREAS ARE STABILIZED, COORDINATE WITH THE ENGINEER FOR INSPECTION. 9. IF SITE IS APPROVED, REMOVE ANY TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL DEVICES AND SEED OR STABILIZE ANY RESULTING BARE AREAS. 10. WHEN VEGETATION HAS BECOME ESTABLISHED, COORDINATE WITH ENGINEER FOR FINAL SITE INSPECTION. OBTAIN CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION AND REMOVE ALL EROSION CONTROL MEASURES WITHIN 30 DAYS. WWTF CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE: 1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROPOSED WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS WITH MINIMUM DISTURBANCES TO THE EXISTING WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY. 2. IF, DURING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY, THE CONTRACTOR NEEDS TO HAVE AN EXISTING WASTEWATER TREATMENT PROCESS TAKEN OUT OF SERVICE, HE SHALL NOTIFY THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY OPERATOR SO THAT HE CAN IN TURN NOTIFY THE DIVISION OF WATER RESOURCES 10 DAYS PRIOR TO TAKING THE UNIT OUT OF SERVICE. 3. AT NO TIME SHALL THE CONTRACTOR BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OPERATING ANY FACILITY PROCESS INCLUDING VALVING OR ASSOCIATED APPURTENANCES. 4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLETE THE CONSTRUCTION AND TESTING OF NEW WORK PRIOR TO MAKING CONNECTIONS TO EXISTING EQUIPMENT. 5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLETE THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE HEADWORKS, FILTERS, YARD PIPING, AND CONTROLS. IMPROVEMENTS TO ALL START-UP ACTIVITIES, FINAL INSPECTIONS AND TESTING SHALL BE COMPLETED WITH CLEAN WATER, PRIOR TO THE FINAL CONNECTION, DIRECTING EXISTING FLOW TO THE NEW TREATMENT UNITS. 6. CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN ALL OPERATIONS OF EXISTING WWTF DURING ALL PHASES OF CONSTRUCTION. 7. PRIOR TO PLACING THE NEW WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITIES IN SERVICE THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY OPERATOR SO THAT HE MAY IN TURN NOTIFY THE DIVISION OF WATER RESOURCES 48 HOURS PRIOR TO PLACING THE NEW UNITS IN SERVICE. 8. THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY OPERATOR MUST BE PRESENT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE INTRODUCTION OF WASTEWATER TO THE NEW WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITIES. EROSION CONTROL NOTES: 1. PROJECT IS LOCATED IN THE CAPE FEAR RIVER BASIN. IT DRAINS TO SURFACE WATERS CLASSIFIED SA. 2. ALL EROSION CONTROL DEVICES SHALL CONFORM WITH THE NORTH CAROLINA EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL PLANNING AND DESIGN MANUAL. 3. CONTRACTOR SHALL USE EROSION CONTROL DEVICES SHOWN AND ANY ADDITIONAL DEVICES NECESSARY TO CONTROL EROSION AND/OR OFFSITE SEDIMENTATION. 4.
