The enclosed application is being submitted for the Weaverville Pump Station No. 1 Pump Upgrades. The
upgrade consists of the installation of two (2) 100 HP Yeomans Model 4153L submersible pumps and all
associated discharge piping in the wetwell. Each of the Yeomans pump has been designed for a flow rate of
2.238 mgd (1,554 gpm) @ 180 ft. TDH. aotq
The upgrade of these pumps will increase firm pumping capacity from 2.246 mgd (1,560 gpm) to approximately
2.794 mgd (1,940 gpm). Additional firm capacity will in turn increase available capacity at the station, which is
currently under capacity of -0.084 mgd (per the attached FTSE-8-13). This pump station has a triplex pump set
up as the above -ground Godwin diesel powered pump (1,560 gpm) being an equal pump. The Godwin pump was
removed for firm capacity calculations.
Approximately 15 LF of new 8" DIP force main will be replaced inside the wetwell. This piping will replace the
existing 8" forcemain: No further forcemain rehabilitation will take place, therefore, velocities will remain the
same.

Division of Water Resources INSTRUCTIONS FOR FORM: FTA 04-16 & SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION
This application is for sewer extensions involving gravity sewers, pump stations and force mains, or any combination that has been
certified by a professional engineer and the applicant that the project meets the requirements of 15A NCAC 02T and the Division's
Minimum Design Criteria and that plans, specifications and supporting documents have been prepared in accordance with, 15A
NCAC 02T, 15A NCAC 02T .0300, Division policies and good engineering practices.
While no upfront engineering design documents are required for submittal, in accordance with 15A NCAC 02T .0305(b), design
documents must be prepared prior to submittal of a fast track permit application to the Division. This would include plans, design
calculations, and project specifications referenced in 15A NCAC 02T .0305 and the applicable minimum design criteria. These
documents shall be available upon request by the Division.

Pump Station (Name or Number):
Given that:
a. The proportion and amount of Obligated, Not Yet Tributary Daily Flow (C) accounts for
34.7 % and 0.3418 MGD of the Available Capacity (E) in Pump Station
Weaverville #1 ; and that
b. The rate of activation ofthis obligated, not yet tributary capacity is currently approximately
0.0056 MGD per year; and that
c. A funded Capital Project that will provide the required planned capacity, namely
Weaverville #1 PS pump replacement is in design or wider construction with
planned completion in Fall 2018 ; and/or
d. The following applies:
The existing 75I-IP pumps at Weaverville #I PS will be replaced with I OOHP pumps,
providing approximately 0.5472 MGD (380gpm) of additional firm pumping capacity.
A Sewer Extension application will be submitted for this upgrade prior to any work being
completed.
Therefore:
Given reasonably expected conditions and planning information, there is sufficient justification to
allow this flow to be permitted, without a significant likelihood of over -allocating capacity in the
system infrastructure.
I understand that this does not relieve the collection system owner from complying with G.S. 143-
215.67(a) which prohibits the introduction of any waste in excess of the capacity of the waste
disposal system.
