This permit, issued on 2/3 L9/ /?'? , is subject to compliance with the application (where consistent
with the permit), all applicable regulations, special conditions and notes set forth below. Any violation of these terms may subject
permittee to a fine, imprisonment or civil action; or may cause the permit to be null and void.
(1) The project will be conducted in strict accordance with the permit plat.
NOTE: Prior to bulkhead construction, the alignment must be staked by a represen-
tative of the Division of Coastal Management in order to prevent a
violation of this permit.
(2) The activity will be conducted in such a manner as to prevent significant
increases in turbidity outside the area of construction or construction-
related discharge.
NOTE: The proposed project is certified under General Water Quality Certifi-
cation No. 1272 issued on November 10, 1978, for bulkhead construction.
This permit action may be appealed by the permittee
or other qualified persons within twenty (20) days of the
issuing date. An appeal requires resolution prior to work
initiation or continuance, as the case may be.
This permit must be accessible on-site to Department
personnel when the project is inspected for compliance.
Any maintenance work or project modification
not covered hereunder requires further Departmental
approval.
All work must cease when the permit expires on
December 31, 1990
In issuing this permit, the State of North Carolina
agrees that your project is consistent with the North
Carolina Coastal Management Program.

8. Project summary The applicant is proposing to construct 375' of bulkhead and a
25' long groin.

Environmental setting
The applicant owns a 1.42 acre tract of land adjacent
east of Bayview. Located on the property is a single
served by a septic tank sewage disposal system. Also
+ 115' of deteriorated bulkhead and a + 200' long pie

vegetation is present.
Project proposal
The applicant is proposing the following:
(1) The construction of 375' of bulkhead. Of this 375', + 145' will be constructed
2' waterward of the existing deteriorated bulkhead, + 130T will be constructed
along an eroding shoreline + 2' waterward of the normal water level, and + 100'
will be constructed along a -drainage ditch.
(2) The construction of a 25' long groin.
Environmental impact
The project as proposed will have a minimal environmental impact.
