NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION: The applicant's property is a tract approximately one-half (1/2) acre in size located on Taylors Creek at 1615 Front Street in the Town of Beaufort in Carteret County. The property is divided into upland and waterfront tracts by Front Street. The applicant is proposing to construct a 10' x 20' deck with a 30' x 4' pier with four (4) tie pilings. On the deck, he is proposing to build a 10' x 12' gazebo with a top and open sides. The maximum distance from the shoreline that the pier will extend is 481. The property where the pier is proposed, is a grass maintained lawn. The shoreline along the property has old rock and brick riprap placed on it. Piers are located on both parcels adjacent to this property. The western parcel adjacent to, the proposed project has a small area of Spartina alterniflora. 10. ANTICIPATED IMPACTS: Conducting this project as proposed will involve the normal turbidity associated with piling placement in estuarine areas. The adjacent waters are classified as "SC" according to the Division of Environmental Management and are currently closed to shellfishing by the Division of Marine Fisheries in consultation with the Division of Health Services. NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION: The applicant's property is a tract approximately one-half (1/2) acre in size`3.ocated on Taylors :Creek at 1615 Front Street in the Town of `Beaufort In. Carteret county., The property is divided into upland and waterfront tracts by Front Street. The applicant is..proposinq to construct a 10' x 20' deck with a 30' x 4' pier with four (4) tie pilings. On the deck, he is proposing to build a 10' x 12' gazebo with a top and open sides. The maximum distance from the shoreline that the pier will extend is 481. The property where the pier is proposed, is a grass maintained lawn. The shoreline along the property has old rock and brick riprap placed on it. Piers are located on both parcels adjacent to this property. The western parcel adjacent tc,the proposed project has a small area of Spartina alterniflora. 10. ANTICIPATED IMPACTS: Conducting this project as proposed will involve the normal turbidity associated with piling placement in estuarine areas.
