17. Noncompliance Notification:
The Permittee shall report by telephone to the Wilmington Regional Office at

Pump and Haul Permit
Food Lion/River Run Shopping Center
Brunswick County
A permit has been issued for construction and operation of a pump station and force
main to serve River Run Shopping Center by connection to the Town of Southport sewer
system. This will allow the noncompliant treatment system to be taken off line. Food Linn,
which is a current occupant of the shopping center, is financing the project to resolve the
noncompliance so an expansion of the Deli can be opened. Problems have been encountered
with the location of the pump station causing delays in completion of the project. In order to
allow Food Lion to open the expansion as planned, a pump and haul operation is proposed
for a maximum of ninety clays (90). A volume of 1,000 GPD will be pumped from the
influent equalization basin in the treatment plant and hauled to the Town of Southport
treatment facility. The hauling is to be done by S&B Maintenance Inc. A permit is prepared
for your approval.
