Project summary The applicants propose to construct a boat ramp at the end of a man made canal off the Perquimans River on U.S. 17 Bypass in Hertford in _ Perquimans- County, N.C. CHARLIE GREGORY BID REPORT PAGE 2 SITE DESCRIPTION: FAST TRACK The applicant's property is located in Perquimans County in Hertford on U.S. 17 Bypass on a man made canal off the Perquimans River. The lot is approximately 9/10 acre and has a house/office and fenced in area with boats on it. The house is used.both as a residence and an office for selling boats. The applicant proposes to construct a boat ramp 20' X 15' at the waterward edge of the existing canal. The proposed boat ramp will be constructed of concrete. The water depth is approximately 3' at this site. This proposed boat ramp is located out of "404" wetlands as designated by the COE and the applicants have agreed to place the boat ramp to avoid any wetland fingers. ANTICIPATED IMPACTS The project as proposed will result in the filling of 45 square feet of canal bottom. This project will result in an increase of turbidity during construction, however, these effects will be short-termed and localized.
