The Division has received your request dated June 2, 1997, concerning the rescission of State
Permit No. WQl 1890. The Division understands that this groundwater remediation facility will not be
constructed. Therefore, as you requested, State Permit No. WQ11890 will be rescinded, effective
immediately.
If in the future, you determine that you need another Non -Discharge wastewater collection permit,
you must first apply for and receive a new Non -Discharge Permit. Operation of a wastewater collection
system without a valid Non -Discharge Permit will subject Coastal Carolina Community College to a civil
penalty of up to $10,000 per day.

This is in reference to the April 21, 1997 letter received from Williams E. Burnett of
Coastal Environmental Services Company over the groundwater remediation facility. Mr.
Burnett stated the permit will never be built because the Corrective Action Plan has be
revised. The Division has received a request for permit recession from Coastal
Environmental Services Company, but a request for recession must come from Coastal
Carolina Community College.
Please submit a letter requesting the permit be receded or a letter from Coastal
Carolina Community College stating Coastal Environmental Services Company has the
authority to rescinded Permit No. WQ0011890,
