This letter is in reference to your email dated April 22, 2010. In this email you stated that the State
Trust Fund has taken the lead at the subject Groundwater Remediation Permit sites and that the
groundwater remediation systems have been removed at each site. Aquifer Protection staff from the
Washington Regional Office has confirmed this and has determined that these permits are no longer
required.
Therefore, in fight of the above-mentioned facts, Groundwater Remediation Permit Numbers
WQ0011211 and WQ0011883 are inactivated effective immediately. If, in the future, there is a
requirement to operate a groundwater remediation system, the responsible party must first apply for
and receive a new Groundwater Remediation Permit. Operating a groundwater remediation system
without a valid permit will subject the responsible party to a civil penalty of up to $25,000 per day.
