Dear Mr. Thompson:
The Division of Environmental Management has received information from the
Wilmington Regional Office which confirms that all land application of solids is now
covered under Permit No. WQ0001271. Therefore, as you requested, Permit No. a
WQ0005834 is hereby rescinded, effective immediately.
If in the future, you determine that you wish to operate another nondischarge
wastewater treatment system, you must first apply for and receive a new Nondischarge _ -
Permit, Operation of a wastewater system without a valid Nondischarge Permit will '
subject the owner to a civil penalty of up to $10,000 per day.

NEW HANOVER COUNTY
Dear Ms. McCaskill:
In reference to your letter dated November 19, 1993,
regarding subject permit issued on September 21, 1992, we
will not be submitting a request for renewal.
This permit, W00005834, was originally requested for the
land application of residual solids that were generated
during a pilot testing project that incorporated alkaline
stabilizing methods. The pilot project was completed in 1943
and all residual solids have been land applied.
At present, we are land applying all our solids under
permit WQ0001271, which was recently amended to include land
application of alkaline stabilized solids. Due to the
completion of the pilot project and the amendment to permit
WQ0001271, it will not be necessary for us to renew the
