Paul Wilms Director SUBJECT: Town of Nashville Permit No. VQ0001744 Wastewater System Rehabilitation EPA Project No. C370504-03 Nash County In accordance with your application received May 22, 1989, we are forwarding herewith Permit No. WQ0001744 dated May 22, 1989, to the Town of Nashville for the construction and operation of the subject wastewater collection system rehabilitation.. This permit shall be effective from the date of issuance until rescinded, and shall be subject to the conditions and limitations as specified therein. If any parts, requirements, or limitations contained in this permit are unacceptable to you, you have the right to an adjudicatory hearing before a hearing officer upon written demand to the Director within thirty (30) days following receipt of this permit, identifying the specific issues to be contended. Unless such demand is made, this permit shall be final and binding. One (1) set of final approved plans and specifications is to be forwarded to you and one (1) set retair-ed for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). A copy of the approved plans and specifications shall be maintain- ed on file by the Owner for the life of the project. P.O. P E R M I T For the Discharge of Sewage, Industrial Wastes, or Other Wastes In accordance with the provisions of Article 21 of Chapter 143, General Statutes of North Carolina as amended, and other applicable Laws, Rules, and Regulations PERMISSION IS HEREBY GRANTED TO Town of Nashville FOR THE construction and operation of approximately 1,070 linear feet of 8-inch sanitary sewer collection line replacement. This Permit shall be effective from the date of issuance until rescinded, and shall be subject to the following conditions and limitations: 1. This Permit shall become voidable unless the facilities are constructed in accordance with the approved plans, specifi- cations and other supporting data. 2. This Permit is effective only with respect to the nature and volume of wastes described in the application and other supporting data. 3. The facilities shall be properly maintained and operated at all times. 4. The sewage and wastewater collected by this system shall be adequately treated in the. City of Rocky fount's wastewater treatment plant prior to being discharged into a receiving stream. 5. Construction of the sewers shall be scheduled so as not to interrupt service by the existing utilities nor result in an overflow or bypass discharge of wastewater to the surface waters of the State. 6. The owner/authority shall have the capability to clean the maximum sewer reach length between manholes. -- 2 - 7. The facilities shall be constructed in accordance with the requirements of the North Carolina Sedimentation Pollution Control Act. 8. During the construction of the proposed additions/modifi cations, the permittee shall continue to properly -maintain and operate the existing wastewater treatment facilities at all times, and in such a manner, as necessary to comply with the effleunt limits specified in the respective NPDES Permit. 9. No additional wastewater shall be added to the Nashville wastewater treatment plant as a result of this collection system replacement. Permit issued this the 22nd day of May, 1989.
