Dear Mr. Lievre:

Subject: Rescission of Permit No. WQ0001334
Worsley Oil Co. - Scotchman 4 107
New Hanover County
Reference is made toward rescission of the subject Groundwater Rer:nediation Permit.
Staff of the Wilmington Regional Office have confirmed that this NonDischarge Permit is
no longer required. Therefore, State Permit No. WQ0001334 is rescinded, effective
immediately.
If in the future you wish to again operate under a nondischarge wastewater treatment
system, you must first apply for and receive a new State Permit. Operating without a
valid State Permit will subject the facility to a civil penalty of up to $10,000 per day.
If it would be helpful to discuss this matter further, I would suggest that you contact
Rick Shiver, Regional Supervisor, Wilmington Regional Office at 910/395-3900.
Sincerely,

Nondischarge Permit No. WQ0001334
New Hanover County
The writer has investigated the subject. The Wilmington
Regional Office Groundwater Group has indicated that this is a
low priority site. There are no potable water supply wells within
1.500 feet of the site and sampling indicated there is no free
product within the groundwater monitoring wells. Senate Bill 1317
eliminates future State Trust Fund reimbursement at this site.
The Wilmington Office Water Quality Group recommends the
Permit No. WQ0001334 be rescinded along with the approval from
the Central Office Groundwater Section that the permit is no
longer required.
