General Electric Company -Wilmington
Lagoon Storage of Wastewater Residuals
New Hanover County
In accordance with your request received June 5, 1995, and our previous correspondence on this
matter, State Permit No. WQ0001305 is hereby rescinded, effective immediately. As previously agreed
upon, General Electric Company should maintain regular contact with the Wilmington Regional Office to
keep them updated on the status of the lagoon closure activities.
If in the future, General Electric Company determines another nondischarge permit is necessary,
the company must apply for the new permit from the Division at that time. Operation of a residuals storage
facility (or other nondischarge system) without a valid nondischarge permit could subject General Electric
Company to a civil penalty of up to $10,000 per day.
